The 30th Annual Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival is back! The 2021 festival will be located at Tymor Park, Union Vale, and will welcome hot-air balloonists from all over the country. With 75 hot-air balloon ascensions scheduled throughout the weekend this festival's history has evolved into a Hudson Valley tradition drawing in thousands of visitors. Some of the festival favorites are the evening Majestic Hot-Air Balloon Illumination Moon Glow, fireworks each night, tethered hot-air balloon rides, full hot-air balloon flights, helicopter rides, live music and entertainment, food trucks, family activities and more. Experience the art scene in Dutchess with the Art Studio Views weekend. This free, self-guided event designed to promote the artwork and talents of local artists in Northern Dutchess is taking place during the Labor Day weekend. Artists in Tivoli, Germantown, Red Hook, Rhinebeck and Hyde Park will open their studios to the public, share their creative environments, and help visitors understand the inspiration that drives their passions. For 170 Years, Germania of Poughkeepsie has been dedicated to the preservation of, and the education of the public about German and German American Heritage and Culture. Join the celebration of the gourmet lifestyle in the Hudson Valley! The Hudson Valley Wine & Food Festival features hundreds of wines from all over New York and the world, more than 100 gourmet specialty foods, fine art, and lifestyle vendors, food tasting from some of the region’s best restaurants and live entertainment. Visitors can learn about wine and food from many cooking demonstrations and seminars throughout the weekend. The Village of Red Hook Hardscrabble celebration is back and in-person this fall! Save the date and celebrate Red Hook’s Apple Harvest and all that this charming town has to offer. Kidscrabble is back for 2021 and will feature a Kids Mini Stage with family-friendly entertainment and designated Kidscrabble areas throughout the village! The Hudson Valley Gospel Festival committee is pleased to announce the second Hudson Valley Gospel Festival! This event will feature the Hudson Valley Gospel Festival Choir directed by Dr. Mary McLymore with music directed by Reverend Tarrence Motley-Epps. Sharing the stage with the festival choir will be the Jazz Pioneers, the West Point Gospel Choir, the Bethel Church of God in Christ Praise Team, Angels Without Wings from the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and more. These living history demonstrations will show what life was like for soldiers, camp followers and civilians during the American Revolution. Musket drills, cooking, baking, colonial games, woodworking, gunsmithing and blacksmith demonstrations. There will also be live presentations by History At Play, LLC each day. Take the perfect fall stroll through farm trails with new furry friends filled with personalities at Lilymoore Farm! Join this new special two-day event celebrating alpacas during one of the prettiest times of the year. Each person (age 9 and up) walks with an alpaca in a group trek, then onto a guided farm tour, next you'll stop for tea, coffee, and pastries and finally a fabulous class. Each day has different offerings like morning yoga, painting an alpaca, wet felting soap, and crochet classes. Pre-registration required for each experience is required. The Hudson River Valley Ramble is an annual event series that celebrates the history, culture and natural resources of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, as well as the amazing landscape, communities, and trails throughout the region. Led by naturalists, ecologists, historians, geologists, and trained volunteers, go out and explore the rich cultural landscape by hiking a trail, visiting a historic site, or paddling on the river.
