Visit Clinton Vineyards to sip on Seyval single-grape vintages, sparkling and dessert wines. Purchase one of their estate-bottled, award-winning wines, and enjoy a lovely picnic on-site at their gorgeous property in Clinton Corners. Make a reservation (which is required!) for a tasting in their historic 19th century Dutch barn, with limited seating on an upcoming Saturday or Sunday between 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. You can also shop their selection of wines here. Curbside pickup is available Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. On weekends, chat with owner Phyllis Feder - the most senior female operating a winery and vineyard in the country.
A winery with a deep-rooted history in the Hudson Valley, Milea Estate Vineyard in Staatsburg is one of Dutchess County’s newer additions. Sit and sip while soaking in the surrounding landscape of rolling hills in their Tasting Room, Patio and Garden area. Reservations are required with a limit to four people. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 12:00 pm – 5:00pm, and Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm -7:00 pm at the Tasting Room Patio and Garden Area for full bottle and by the glass consumption. Nominated by Wine Enthusiast in 2019 for American Winery of the Year, Millbrook Vineyards & Winery is open daily. Planted in 1983, Millbrook was the first vineyard in the region dedicated exclusively to the production of vinifera grapes. The Vineyard Taproom and Terrace is open with limited seating, outdoor wine tastings are hosted Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday and indoor wine tastings are available during the week. Can’t get any fresher than Hoofprint Cheese Company’s delicious chevre or aged cheese, sold on the farm at Locust Hill Market, open everyday but Tuesday. Brendan and Katelyn Foley consider their goats family, and truly enjoy their life in the country making delicious cheese.
Also available at Locust Hill Market, try Chaseholm Farm Creamery’s fresh and aged farmstead cheeses. From a spreadable ‘boursin’ style cow’s milk cheese, to a more firm, raw milk tomme, you can taste the quality in these artisanal products.
Beacon Pantry’s market (also a café with outdoor dining available if you’re a sucker for a great cheese board), Adams Fairacre Farms in Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls, and the Taste NY Market at Todd Hill are also great specialty shops to purchase local products.
