Big Gay Hudson Valley celebrates Four Years of Pride
Support the Big Gay Hudson Valley (BGHV) this Memorial Day weekend! From Friday through Sunday, there will be a fun event each day recognizing the GLBTQ community and celebrating diversity in Dutchess County. Check out these gatherings to start the summer season.The Pride Preview "Kick-off" party will be held at Poughkeepsie's Out Bar on Friday, May 26. Haven't been to the newest bar to join the nightlife scene in Dutchess? This is the time to do it with great drinks, food and an outdoor terrace without a cover charge.
Sail on the beautiful Hudson River on Saturday, May 26, on Empire Cruise Line's M/V Mystere. Starting with a cocktail party dockside in Poughkeepsie's Waryas Park, guests will then board and cruise north past the Vanderbilt Mansion, Culinary Institute of America, and the Walkway over the Hudson from the water.
For those who want to save all their energy for one day to party with BGHV, come to this year's Pride Preview Party at Locust Grove (locustgrove.org) on Sunday, May 27. See why more than 700 people came together to celebrate Pride Preview. This BYOB picnic party welcomes dogs on leashes and everyone 21+ to bring cocktails of their choice. For $10, enjoy performances by local DJs and play Drag Bingo Cabaret with Trixie Starr and Ophelia Nightly.
