Celtic Thunder at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center

« Back to Home

It's an exciting time for the Mid-Hudson Civic Center as they get ready to welcome the September 24th performance of Celtic Thunder, a successful Irish Band that introduced themselves to the music world in 2008.  They are more than ready to bring their new album Voyage to life on stage.

Voyage embodies Irish culture, while highlighting the uniqueness and diversity that Irish song brings. The album has everything from a love song, "Dulaman", to a fun Irish party song, "My Irish Molly-O."

The band was named BILLBOARD's Top World Music Artist, along with Top World Music Imprint and Top World Album of 2011 for their album Heritage. Along with these impressive titles, they appeared on national television shows, such as The Today Show, CBS Early Show's Saturday Second Cup Cafe, Fox News & Friends.

The band has been working with a guest artist Daniel Furlong as two of their previous members, Damian McGinty and Paul Byrom, have moved on from the band. Currently, there are five of the original band members that perform, including Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, Neil Byrne, George Donaldson, and Emmet Cahill.

Their success continued, as their YouTube channel "Thunder Tube" hit more than 25 million views and they were given the opportunity to perform for President Obama at the White House's St. Patrick's Day celebration in 2009, as well as opening the famous St. Patrick's Day Parade two years in a row (2008 & 2009).
