You're invited to a great party; a Razzle-Dazzle phenomenal party, with all the best people invited and all the finest tunes to entertain you. Tunes from Broadway blockbusters like Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Oklahoma, Les Mis and many others; tunes from movies and from cabaret too - there'll be some old favorites of yours, some new discoveries, and a guaranteed good time. It's "Highlights From the Footlights" at the CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck.

Performers include Johnny Dell and Lisa Lynds, who just finished wowing audiences as Tevya and Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, Barbara Rankin, George Conrad (who played Jesus in Godspell and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady), Thomas DeVernier (who was bloodthirsty as Dracula and a bit crazy as McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), Jim Klosty, Katie DeFiglio, Mary Dallari, Marlene Golia, Barbara Hardgrave and Ben Kellner. JoAnne and Paul Schubert provide the incomparable piano accompaniment at this to-die-for party and Bernie Ruderman is the host who leads everyone through the festivities, and maybe tends a little bar along the way. And you're invited!

You'll be welcomed, naturally, with Wilkommen, from Cabaret, you'll get up and cheer for Don't Rain on My Parade, from Funny Girl, you'll take a ride in a Surrey with the Fringe on the Top, you'll be introduced to The Laziest Gal in Town and you'll be right there with the guy who dreams about If I Were a Rich Man. You'll recognize yourself in songs that talk about growing older and wiser like I'm Glad I'm Not Young Anymore. This is just a small sample of the songs you'll laugh through, thrill to, and maybe even shed a tear or two through.

And you'll partake of all this pleasure in an intimate setting: a great party and an elegant evening await you at this end of summer event at The CENTER, September 1 and 2, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday matinee at 3pm. Tickets are $20 and $22, with a special discount for groups of 10 or more of $15.

For tickets and information, go to the CENTER's website www.centerforperformingarts.org or call the box office at 845-876-3080.
