5th annual Art Studio Views Open Studio Tour

« Back to Home

Peek behind the scenes when 30 artists open their studio doors to you this Labor Day Weekend. Grab this unique opportunity to watch artists at work, and the opportunity to buy pieces directly from them.  You'll probably even get a hands-on demonstration.

5th annual Art Studio Views is a free, self-guided tour designed to promote the artwork and talents of Northern Dutchess County artists from Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Staatsburg, and Tivoli. They'll open their studios, share their creative environment, and help visitors understand the inspiration that drives their passion.

Enjoy a "Behind the Scenes" visit and take advantage of this unique chance to be on the inside track to purchase works of art directly from artists. Most of the art created in these studios finds its way to many regional gallery exhibitions throughout the year.

As a fun element, each artist received a beautifully hand-crafted 9" wooden box. These Boxes are decorated and artistically enhanced in fanciful ways to celebrate the annual studio tour. The Boxes are displayed in Red Hook, Rhinebeck, and Hyde Park storefronts during August as a silent-auction fundraiser. Funds raised from The Boxes auction are donated to a non-profit organization.

Many of the studios are handicapped-accessible, and others may be seen by special arrangement. Check with the individual artist in advance.

Three businesses are headquarters where you can pick up the brochure; get advice about restaurants and nearby attractions; or use their facilities to freshen up.

The diverse collection of arts and cultural organizations of Northern Dutchess County make this area of the Mid-Hudson Valley a unique destination: contemporary and historic, edgy and popular, rural and urban, sophisticated and homey. Where else can you experience the work of world-renowned performers, visual artists, architects and  scholars; the historical legacy of American icons of politics and business; the value and  quality of exceptional regional artists in all disciplines; the small-town comfort of community festivals celebrating the region's agricultural traditions and  civic-pride; surrounded by the most beautiful natural scenery found anywhere. http://Artsnortherndutchess.org

Spearheaded by the artists themselves, Art Studio Views is supported by area sponsors who, through their generous support, enable artists to host this open studio event.
