Bannerman Castle

The Scottish-style castle on the Hudson River was built in the early 1900s when purchased by Frank Bannerman, VI. 2-hr. cruise around the island on the "Pride of the Hudson" tourboat. Historic lecture. An “On-Island” guided tour of Bannerman Island on “The Pollepel.”

Clermont State Historic Site

Country estate of seven generations of the prominent Livingston family. Restored mansion, visitor center, exhibit galleries, formal gardens, carriage trails, picnicking.

Clinton House

An historic stone house built in c.1765, before the American Revolution. Headquarters of the Dutchess County Historical Society .and Franklin Butts Research Library by appt. Wed. and Fri.

Historical archives of local county information, monthly programs; center located in a former Quaker Meeting House built in 1777.

First Reformed Church

Congregation dating to 1716. Original 1731 building was the meeting place for the New York Provincial Congress and a prison during the Revolutionary War. Tours by appointment.

Franklin D. Roosevelt Home National Historic Site

Glebe House

The 1767 house has been restored to represent the home of Tory Minister, The Reverend John Beardsley and his wife Gertrude Crannel, who resided there from 1767 to 1777 when they were forced to flee to the safety of New York City and the protection of British troops.

John Kane House

Served as George Washington's headquarters 1778. Repository for past and present local history, including a replica of the village in 1948 with moving trains. The Lowell Thomas rooms focus on the life of the radio pioneer and world traveler.
