Bard College Hessel MuseumWhen walking along the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie with the sun shining and a cool breeze blowing, there could only be one thing missing; music. The bridge now has two towers that play music at your command, as well as radio broadcast within the parks that surround the bridge.

Bridge Music

A site-specific sound art installation created for this suspension bridge. The installation consists of two components: (1) audio speakers mounted at two listening stations on the bridge’s towers that play Joseph Bertolozzi’s original music on-demand at the touch of a button, and (2) a FM stereo transmission 24 hours a day on 95.3FM within the parks surrounding the bridge. Free
