DUTCHESS COUNTY FARM FRESH LINK

SUMMER FAMILY FARM DAYS*
Saturdays: June 16, 23, 30
Sundays:  June 17, 24, July 1

Experience fresh-from-the-farm goodness with the whole family!  Grab the Dutchess County Farm Fresh Shuttle at the Poughkeepsie Train Station for stops at Plankenhorn Dairy Farm and Secor Farms (for pick-your-own produce and vegetables) in the picturesque Hudson Valley.

Plankenhorn Farm is opening its barn doors and inviting you in for a behind-the-scenes peek into the life of a dairy farmer.  Discover how milk gets from the farm to your table, making a few bovine buddies along the way.  And no visit to the farm is complete without sampling some premium-quality, Hudson Valley Fresh milk (www.hudsonvalleyfresh.com).  Next it’s time for hand-picked strawberries at Secor Farms (www.secorstrawberries.com).  Pick your own fruit or visit the farm stand for an assortment of seasonal goodies, including local jams, jellies, maple syrup and honey.

Between visits you’ll have the opportunity to explore the charming village of Millbrook (www.millbrooknyonline.com).  Known for its rolling hills and horse farms, Millbrook is also home to many eateries, gift shops and antique stores.

This special discount package is available beginning June 1, 2007 by calling Metro-North Railroad at 1-800-METRO-INFO (in NYC call 212-532-4900) or by visiting the Metro-North website .
