The Poughkeepsie Farm Project and Barrett Clay Works are teaming up to support the first annual Soup-A-Bowl fundraiser, a celebration of food and art. Hudson Valley Renegades: Play Ball!

The Hudson Valley Renegades, our Class-A minor league baseball team, has exciting games and promotions slated all summer long! The Renegades kick off their HV Renegades2008 season on Tuesday, June 17 with their own “New Year’s Celebration” at 7:05pm. Fans attending opening night are treated to all the hoopla surrounding a typical New Year’s celebration, but with a little Renegades twist. It’s time again for family fun, great deals andfood and lively entertainment. The 163rd Dutchess County Fair, which always runs the third full week in August, opens DC FairTuesday, August 19 and runs through Sunday, August 24 at the attractive Dutchess County Fairgrounds on Route 9 in Rhinebeck. Writers Reading From Their Work

Maple Grove is hosting a series called “Words, Words, Words,” which features Hudson Valley authors reading from their works. The events are open to the public and are held from 3-5pm in the first floor rooms of Maple Grove. Lemonade will be served on the porch after the readings, and copies of the authors’ books will be available for purchase.  These events are free, but a donation towards the Maple Grove Restoration fund is appreciated. Dutch Colonial Legacy Weekend

The Hudson Valley, once part of new Netherlands until 1667, retains much evidence of that Dutch heritage in place names and in buildings built by early settlers. The weekend of September 20 and 21, you have a chance to visit many of them, including a private residence, and partake of a Dutch meal or coffee break during your tour of these historic sites.
